Salivary lithium concentration--a tool for monitoring psychiatric patients

Summary

Saliva lithium levels are significantly higher than serum levels in patients with manic-depressive illness. A formula was developed to estimate serum lithium from saliva, aiding therapeutic drug monitoring.
